"I-10 Flame Out"

Another painting of mine that I have done a few of and continue to enjoy making is my "Oil Series" on Far West Texas landscapes.  Many spend a lot of time trying to deduce what West Texas makes one feel and for me it's simple.  It's the sparsness of the land and the things that break that landscape.  All it takes is an oil flame cast against that greying winter sky and I'm back on a roadtrip through the area thinking the long thoughts on life.  After all where else can you feel so alone with your thoughts other than West Texas?
